More snow falls across Europe
Large amounts of snow have fallen in ski resorts across Europe to the delight of sports enthusiasts, it has been reported.

This week, resorts in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Norway and Switzerland have all reported falls of up to a metre, according to www.Skiinfo.com.

More than 200 ski areas across Europe will be open for business this weekend and expecting thousands of visitors on ski holidays.

Zermatt already has 100 miles of piste open while the Espace Killy in France, which opens today, will offer visitors 187 miles of piste.

Other parts of Europe are also enjoying plenty of snowy weather including northern Spain.

"There has been two days of continuous snowfall bringing from 30 to 80 cm (12 - 32 inches) of fresh powder in the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian mountains of Northern Spain," Skiinfo.com's regional manager for the area, Dr Raul Revuelta Carbajo told the Snowboard Club.

"A new cold front is expected for the next few days bringing more huge snowfalls."
