Denmark is a favorite destination with majestic castles, Vikings, delicious European pastries, pristine beaches, and much more. Regardless of age or lifestyle, there is something for everyone in the country of Denmark. Of the five Nordic countries, Denmark is the smallest. The capital city is Copenhagen, which is found in the island of Zealand. Over the years, it has evolved into a major cosmopolitan city, offering fantastic restaurants, hotels, and other activities for visitors to enjoy.
The ocean waters are clean, perfect for people who love spending time swimming or enjoying various water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, and boating. Other opportunities in Denmark include biking, allowing people to explore the magnificent countryside and sightseeing. For this, visitors have an abundance of choices for museums, gardens, shopping malls, restaurants, castles, and more. For the family, a trip to the Tivoli Gardens theme park would be ideal where rides and concerts can be enjoyed.
One castle in particular is called Kronborg or Hamlet’s Castle, which is found in the area of Elsinore. The summer is a special time at the castle when Shakespearean plays are reenacted. Of course, Denmark is also home to many other incredible castles and homes with unrivaled architecture such as Alholm Castle. Visitors can also visit the largest car museum in the country or head to the northern region to hike Knuthenborg, a fantastic wildlife park.
Then, Jutland is another area of Denmark that offers some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Europe. Bordering the North Sea, the area is rich in beaches, forests, and not far from the bustling city of Arhus. As you can see, Denmark is a tremendous place to visit, which is why so many people go there every year. The only downside is that the larger cities such as Copenhagen are expensive but the experience is well worth the investment.
