Gourmet cruises to Brittany from £95 per person
24 January 2012

Brittany Ferries is offering a two-night mini cruise focusing on the gourmet cuisine aboard its luxury cruise-ferry the Pont Aven and at its destination, St Malo, where you can spend the day browsing the delis and enjoying superb restaurants.

Arriving in St Malo there’s plenty of time to work up an appetite exploring the winding, cobbled streets of Intra-Muros before a lunch reservation in the popular, friendly, family run Le Café de l’Ouest.  The three course offering includes a welcome aperitif and coffee, and features local highlights such as Cancale oysters, Mackerel in white wine and a home-made crème brulée. There is also the option to dine at the Michelin starred, charming Le Chalut.  After the welcome aperitif, 4 luscious courses await you; starting with famous Cancale Nº 1 oysters or foie gras served with a special “Granny Smith” chutney, followed by perfectly cooked line caught yellowbass, and the award winning cheeses of Jean-Yves Bordier served with house speciality fig- infused bread, all rounded off by a choice of the restaurant’s tempting desserts.

After a leisurely afternoon exploring the area or perhaps stocking up on the Breton delicacies on offer all around, you can board Pont-Aven any time after 6 pm.

This mini-cruise deal is available on Friday and Monday departures at 20:15, which get you back at 08:00 on the Sunday or Wednesday. The price of £95 includes a two-berth inside cabin, dinner and breakfast on outward crossing and lunch at Le Café de l’Ouest in St Malo.

Conditions: Supplement for Friday night departures of £4 per person. Le Chalut is only available Saturday lunch time for a supplement of £20 per person. Early boarding option subject to availability. Vehicles and larger cabins carry extra supplements.  Single supplements apply. Available 17th February to 26th March inclusive.
