Events in Brussels and Bruges this winter
03 January 2012

There are a number of attractive events taking place in Belgium before the spring. Here are some good reasons to take a Eurostar weekend break to Brussels and Bruges.

Always a winner, the Bruges Beer Festival will give visitors that ability to repel that cold wind blowing in from the North Sea. Belgian beer is strong, but oh so good and certainly a reason to get onto the Eurostar train for a couple of days of tasting. The Beer Festival takes place on the 4th and 5th of February (that’s a Saturday and Sunday).

If you’re in need of a reverse form of treatment, you could ways visit the “Sick in Bruges” Exhibition which celebrates herbal remedies at the Sint Jan Hospital Museum. This will be on until the 26th February. You may also be interested in the Bio Market held in Antwerp every first and third Sunday of each month. Antwerp is just 15-20 minutes by train from Brussels.

Visit the Brussels Antiques and Fine Arts Fair from the 21st to the 29th January held at the Tour and Taxis conference centre. Alternatively the Affordable Art Fair staring on the 9th February.

Whichever city you decide to visit you can find cheap deals at this time of year with Short Breaks, who are offering breaks from £119 including hotel and return Eurostar
