Belarus is situated in the center of Europe on the watershed of the Baltic and Black Seas. The capital is the city of Minsk. Belarus borders on Poland, Lithuania, Latvia Russia and Ukraine. The main track of Eurasia as well as the shortest ways from Russia to Western Europe and from the Baltic Sea to the Black sea run through Belarus.

The city of Minsk is a clean, well organised city and contrary to many perceptions is green, leafy, and pleasant to visit. It has the feeling of a smaller provincial city, but had always been the epicentre of technological development when it was part of the USSR. Recommended hotels in Minsk include the Hotel Minsk and for economy, the hotel Belarus, which has a great, panoramic view of the city from its very good restaurant. City breaks in Minsk can include a visit to the opera house which always has something on.
