What was your first holiday in Europe?
Probably in France when I was a teenager, I went across on the ferry on a school trip. Had a lovely time.
What was your last?
Berlin 2 weeks ago to DJ and play solo 'Roses Kings Castle' in a hip Berlin club.
What do you love about Europe?
I love different things about different places, I love the Parisian cafe culture, I often twitter a gig last minute and the good thing is I can just turn up to any pacef and they let me play..
I love the naughtiness of Berlin..ahem. Nothing rude, no, Not I, just this uncurrent of culture and the 'undergroundness' of the Berlin art scene, it reminds me of my romantic notion of the emerging 50's London music culture.
Favourite hotel?
I love the France albion in Paris as it's close to all the best bars and cafes but for a little more comfort I'm a sucker for a Marriot.
Worst Hotel?
There's been a few, probably in Thailand, but that's not Europe so..... One time in Alicante, I was flying early and had time for about 4 hrs sleep! I can't remember the name, but it had no curtains and the heating was stuck on full, it was the middle of summer and the sun was blazing, I remember looking out of the window at the other rooms, they all had no curtains with the windows fully opened and most of the occupants were stark naked! how odd, if you can't beat them join them...
Favourite city?
Paris, in the winter, not sure why, it just feels warm, London in the summer, you can't beat Soho in the heat.
Favourite beach?
Great Yarmouth, all thoise fond childhood memories, fish and chips, and food poisoning.
Favourite restaurant?
The old beer cellar in Bern, Switzerland, amazing ceiling, it's like the Cistine chapel and it's quite near to the old bear pit, which is good or bad depends how you look at it.
Who / what do you never leave home without?
My computer and ipod, I do loads online, especially blogs and last minute gigs with twitter and stuff, so it's a must.
What do you never leave Europe without?
Fond memories.
Ferry, ship, plane, train, or car?
Plane normally as it's the most effecient but the idea of contributing to the disaster of the environment isn't good.
What is your worst European travel memory?
There's been a few times when we have gone to play in Europe to play with the band and it hasn't happened, It's a horrid feeling, you've travelled all that way to such a beautiful city and you're filled with a dark disapointment.
What is your “golden rule” of travel?
Try to avoid cheapo cheapo flights expecially on weekends.
What’s keeping you busy at the moment?
My next Roses Kings Castles album, the next Babyshambles album, running..
