Situated right in the historical centre of Brussels, on the Place de Brouckère, five minutes away from the Grand Place. Built in 1895, it is the only remaining 19th century hotel in Brussels, and a listed building. The Métropole is also well known for its gourmet restaurant "Alban Chambon and for its bar "Le 19ième", a great place to sit and watch the world go by when sitting down at the end of a days sightseeing.
The Metropole is the oldest surviving hotel in Brussels, and contains unique Art Deco and Art Nouveau design.
We were recommended the Metropole as a last-minute weekend option, and boy what a gem it is. It has the most magnificent decor and the coolest bar I have ever seen. The rooms are enormous, and at the price I paid, an absolute bargain! Highly recommended.
