As part of a surprise for my wife on our first wedding anniversary, I booked a room at the Hotel Duret, Etoile Champs Elysees, Paris. On arrival we were taken to our room. The room itself was not to the standard expected of any 4*hotel let alone one that is advertised as 'an outstanding 4 star hotel'. To say the least it was somewhat scruffy with scuff and dirty marks on the walls. The Queen Bed, which was an important part of the booking was a very small double bed and there was no sign of the promised mini bar. To say I was disappointed would be somewhat of an understatement and the whole scenario took the shine of off the special anniversary surprise. I feel that my expectations were completely let down and I will not be taking any further advice from yourselves with respect to any further trips. Gary McCafferty, Tonbridge
