Hotel Carlton Lille Reviews 4 Star Hotels in Lille Eurostar Breaks in Lille with Customer reviews

Charm, space and comfort. The decor and furnishings carefully reflect the styles of Louis XV and XVI and each of the 60 rooms and suites is sound-proofed and air conditioned and has marble bathroom.

The Hôtel Carlton is very convenient for leisure travellers, being just a few minutes' walk from both Flandres and Europ stations, Lille Grand Palais and Euralille. There is a very fast and frequent Eurostar and TGV service from Paris, Brussels and London and French Regional Cities. It's a good idea to stay overnight in Lille en-route to the south of France.

One of the best adresses in Northen France. In the heart of the City, just opposite the Opera House and the historic Stock Exchange, the Hotel Carlton has a unique class and quality of service.

Carlton Lille Reviews...

"Lille lovely, shame about the hotel"
Lille is a lovely historic town, however it is only worth spending a few days there and beware of tuesdays as most places were shut when we visit in November.
We stayed in the Carlton Hotel, and it is a shame the look of the place does not live up to the reality. The location is great as it is central but that is the only thing this place has going for it. The rooms look tired, and check whether they have been cleaned before remaining in them. If you are a large man then expect discomfort as the toilets are small. The hotel also boasts the rooms are soundproof - they are not. CHECK the contents of mini bar upon arrival, otherwise you may get accused of using the mini when you have not and also accused of replacing the contents of the mini bar by purchasing from a outside retailer. Over all there are other equally nice hotels in Lille which will probably treat their clients with a little more respect. (nickent1968)

"Top hotel in Lille, and great upgrade"
I was sent to Lille for work reasons last year, and on arrival at the pre-booked Carlton, I was told that unfortunately all the rooms were booked, but for a small extra cost they could allow me to use the "Coupole" room in the turret of the building. It was the most incredible room I have ever stayed in. On two floors, it had a large living area downstairs, and an open plan bedroom with a round bath in the middle of the room upstairs. It was a shame that I was alone, and it was just for one night. Anyway, I had a ball, and felt privileged at breakfast the next day.
Location wise, pretty unbeatable, as it was right opposite the opera house and and 50m from the "Grand Place". I had a taxi take me out to the offices that I was there for from right ouside the hotel. I had just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, past Euralille shopping centre, to the International Rail station, which then took me back to London in what felt like a blink of an eye.
I would recommend Lille as a short break destination, and particularly the Carlton Hotel. Get upgraded if you can! Dave G, Sheffield.

"Overbooking somewhat common"
I also got overbooked at this hotel, but ended up in the Novotel, which I was not happy about. Make sure you get 100% confirmation of your booking before you leave. Jayne Marsden, Witney, Oxon.

"Do not recommend"
Check minibar on arrival or you will be scammed and charged - with the reception staff being condescending whist doing so. Took money off credit card without prior notification. Rooms unclean and tired. If you are over 6ft tall you will be unable to sit comfortably on toilet as room tiny. Do not bother with "do not disturb" as staff will still harass you. Nick Kent, UK
