The Hilton Brussels City was very easy to find from the Eurostar Terminal at Brussels South Station, you simply take a direct Metro to Place Rogier where you will find the hotel within 100 metres of the exit. When I walked into the hotel at about 10:30am I noticed that there were several people checking in being told that the rooms were not ready yet, it was after all pretty early to check in. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told that my room was in fact ready and that I could go right up to the eighth floor where I could occupy my deluxe room.
The room had all wooden laminate floors, somewhat cold but the Hilton branded slippers were a perfect cure for that. The bed was a king size with pristine white sheets, duvet and pillows. On it was a welcome letter and a neatly folded dressing gown. The room was big enough to also have a large sofa to stretch out on plus a tea table full of various teas, coffees and some bottled water.
I needed to check my emails but didn’t have a laptop with me so I used the business centre on the first floor. Internet access was a hefty 35 cents per minute, so I was gone pretty quickly. Just beside the business centre was the gym and sauna which I didn’t use.
It was pretty cold outside and I had spent the day walking around the city making a video, so I didn’t really feel like venturing out again, so I used the in-house restaurant on the ground floor. I paid 30 Euro for a two-course dinner which was excellent, and so was the courteous and friendly service.
The Hilton Brussels City has an ideal location for both business and leisure visitors to Brussels, but what I was most impressed with was the quality of service. It was friendly, efficient and prompt. Gary Phillips, Editor.
