Spanish Rail Travel
Our quick guide to the Spanish rail system, which trains to take, and how to book them.
Important note: If you are travelling from the UK, it is usually better to book your Eurostar train separately from your overnight train from Paris to Madrid or Barcelona. This way you have more flexibility and can often get more availability from the search. The same is true if you are booking onward trains within Spain.
The Elipsos TrainHotel
The Elipsos Train Hotel allows you to travel overnight from Paris directly to Barcelona or Madrid. They depart from Gare d'Austerlitz.
The AVE High-Speed Trains
The AVE high-speed train is the most likely and practical option for passengers travelling to onward destinations from overnight trains into Madrid or Barcelona.

These Alaris service runs between Valencia and Madrid only.
