Quay Hotel Deganwy Veranda Quay Hotel Deganwy Restaurant Quay Hotel Exterior

The award-winning Quay Hotel is located in the village of Deganwy, in between Conwy, with its beautiful castle, on the opposite side of the river, and Llandudno, just a mile or so away. Just a minute from the A55 to Chester, access is quick and easy with travel from Manchester possible within an hour.

The location is highly favourable as a base to explore North Wales, but as a destination hotel, you are more likely to take advantage of the excellent spa facilities and its access to historical Conwy.

The views across the Conwy estuary are both breathtaking and ever-changing, with its busy waterway, and the Conwy Mountains in the background. The best of these sights can indeed be seen from the award-winning “Vue” restaurant, or from rooms that look out onto the estuary.

There are 74 bedrooms, suites and penthouses, all of superior quality and size.

Quay Hotel Reviews...

We spent a very relaxing weekend at the Quay Hotel in Mid May, travelling up of central London on a Friday. The journey took about five hours, even with the heavy traffic, and fortunately the hotel was really easy to find, just off the A55 and its location accurately defined by the Sat-Nav.
On arrival, we were welcomed by very friendly and efficient staff, who really couldn’t have dealt with us any better. We were directed to our room, a large standard bedroom with a veranda and view across the Conwy estuary, which was great. It had a very comfortable king-size bed, leather sofa, TV with many channels, and a large en-suite bathroom with good towels and bathrobes. All boxes ticked.
After the long journey, we didn’t feel like doing anything but to enjoy the expansive room, which, by London standards, was vast.
On the Saturday morning, we rose pretty late for breakfast to find that the buffet was still going strong and with plenty of choice between the traditional English breakfast fare and some continental options too. Coffee was excellent, plenty to eat, comfortable seating and again, friendly and attentive staff.
After breakfast, the obvious choice for us was to walk round to Conwy, which is a real gem of a town, with its great castle, pretty streets and the Bodlondeb woods, all enough to keep anyone occupied for a good long day of sightseeing. We had pretty lousy weather, but we did come prepared for this, and the odd diversion into a shop or pub always worked a treat.
By late afternoon after having also been rained off the front at Llandudno, we came back to the hotel to have a go at the gym, pool and sauna facilities. Again the greeting at the reception was kind and friendly. Having visited a few such places in the past, we decided that the joint was at least as good as any we have experienced in the past, albeit smaller than many, we never felt it crowded in any way. In fact for most of the time we were there, there were never more than a couple of others using it.
By 7pm we were well ready for dinner, which came an hour earlier than booked, due mostly to our hunger and a need to retire early to watch the Eurovision song contest! The restaurant staff were happily accommodating in the change of booking, and again were polite and attentive in their service. I had the special for that evening, which was Mullet, very good while my other half enjoyed a large shank of Lamb, which I was forced to finish on her behalf, due to its great size, and my appetite!
Checkout was by 11am but was efficiently handled by the girl at reception.
It is not surprising that the Quay Hotel has received so many awards, as we genuinely felt that the service was very good, a refreshing change from London, and for that matter many other European city we have visited, leading us to conclude that going overseas is not at all necessary for a real change of scene, and for some real value for money.
