We visit the newly refurbished Curia Palace Hotel, an historical art nouveau palace with excellent golf and spa facilities, but above all a destination hotel that offers superb value for money with rooms from just 70 Euro.
The refurb was completed in June 2008 to allow all-year round opening, and you would have to say that it was a hugely successful project. The architects have maintained the Art Nouveau splendour of this legendary hotel but made sufficient improvements to allow the hotel to offer superb value for money at this well-known spa destination in Anadia.
It was originally built in 1929 (ironically in the same year as the last crash!) but was a huge success. In each of the rooms are photos from a bygone age of crowds enjoying the amenities of the hotel, at balls, and gathering for huge parties.
The spa facilities are just excellent and considering you can stay here from just 70 Euro per room per night, we reckon that it's right up there as one of the best value spa hotels in Europe.
We would say that with the quality of the rooms, this hotel would easily classify as a five star hotel in London. They are mostly large rooms with a large, extremely comfortable bed and soft pillows. The black and white marble bathrooms have a great shower and are worthy of the Savoy Hotel. The views are pretty good too, with a choice of the farm, the front, or the golf course.
You can book this hotel directly using this site, using your credit card to pay a 10% deposit with balance only required on checking out of the hotel. You also have the full choice of room types. Book the Curia Palace >>>
The Curia Palace Hotel is approximately 125 km from Porto International Airport and can be reached comfortably in an hour and half by car. Make sure you get sat-nav with your hire car as there are a few turns that you easily miss in this pretty rural area.
