Freedom Treks are running a cycling tour (guided or self guided) that offers you a taste of Italy, Austria and Slovenia in just seven days. Covering a total of 197 miles, the tour starts in Toblach and follows the River Drau through Italy’s South Tyrol with the impressive Dolomites lining the route before entering Austria’s East Tyrol and the town of Lienz.
The following day is dedicated to comfortable cycling through the flat, wide and sheltered Gail Valley to Feistritz, after which the route heads back into Italy before travelling on to Slovenia, past the renowned ski area of Kranjska Gora, and finally reaching the shores of Lake Bled.
The tour will then head along the Soca Valley, a popular river for canoeists and historically the stage of major military operations during World War I.
The final stage takes riders through the Friuli wine growing region, where the participants will be rewarded with regional culinary delights accompanied by local wines before pushing on to the former Habsburg port of Trieste.
This 7 night, 197 mile tour starts from £603 per person self-guided (B&B) or from £955 guided (half board) in 3*/4* hotels. This includes luggage transfer, maps, some transfers and guided tours.
